Prudents Sickle Cell Project

There was no activity on Sickle Cell Disease in Pakistan but the patients of Sickle Cell Disease are available.The Executive Council of The Prudents has decided to take the responsibility” To aware Community about Sickle Cell Disease”The Prudents Sickle Cell Project has four working fields which are Awareness, Research, Diagnosis and Prevention.In phase 1, The Prudents will concentrate on Awareness through following channels:

• Arrange Seminars
• Walk a Cause
• Distribution of Pamphlets
• Distribution of Research Papers
• Media Campaign
• Arrange or participate in different recreational activities.

In Phase II, The Prudents will work on research through survey of high risk areas, involve community in research and highlight research reports to Government and Community.

Third Phase will be based on Diagnosis and Prevention through following activities:

• Network of Diagnosis Centers will be established in rural and urban areas.
• Expert doctors will be involved for positive patients.
• Help patients for treatment.
• Motivate community for blood testing before marriages.
• Discourage inter family marriages (cousin marriages)
• Take care of Positive patients.
